...With IKEA!!
Back in the States, IKEA just seemed like a distant dream since the nearest one was in Atlanta (and I never could quite get Tom Harrison to go that far). But here, there is one in Groningen. And (though I am not sure how it compares to the ones at home,) it is awesome!!! Who knew that on top of selling everything practical for living, they also had a cafeteria and small grocery section?!
This morning, after dropping the kids off at school, Amanda, her sister, and I ventured to IKEA for a hearty breakfast. We got a mini baguette, croissant, cheese, egg, butter, jam, and coffee all for .50 euros!! (That is like 75 US cents!) Yumm. Money well spent, no doubt.
After eating, we decided to venture around the store so that I could actually see what IKEA had to offer. Once again, it was awesome!! Everything is so hip and chic... and best of all, relatively inexpensive! Why didn't I know this when I needed decor for my apartment?? From lighting, to book shelves, to pillows, to vases... I want it all.
And just walking around the store makes me genuinely happy. How weird! I guess that will be my new place of zen from now on. Having a bad day? Go to IKEA! That store also makes me want to be a housewife. I just want to go and buy pots and pans, aprons, and kitchen ware, then go (to my posh, IKEA decorated) home and cook! Wow, I cool!
But the moral of the blog is, if you haven't been to an IKEA, go right away! It's worth the (if living in West Tennessee, the 6-7 hour) drive! ...Well, maybe if you don't have to take all 4 of your kids with you, (Faith)... But defenitely go at some point in your life. Put it on your "Bucket List" if need be... And I promise you won't regret it!
