Things I Learned Today:

1) If you come to the Netherlands and forget your raincoat, you're going to live to regret it.*

2) The fleece you wear (in place of the raincoat you forgot) is going to get wet.

3) When that fleece (you wore in place of the raincoat you forgot) gets wet, you will get cold--no matter how mild the temperature may be.

4) Standing under a tree (while wearing the wet fleece because you forgot to pack a raincoat) will not help. You will still get wet.

5) And when you are at your coldest, wettest moment waiting for the children at school, one of them will most likely take at least 15 minutes to track down.

Why? Because that is just how life works.

6) After waiting 15 minutes in the rain (while wearing the fleece that is wet because you forgot to bring a raincoat), one particular child (that took forever to find) will want to walk at a snail's pace to the car (in order to get out of the rain).

*So if you are reading this, Faith--and I know you are--please tell Tom Harrison to find my black northface raincoat and send it to me. (By the time you fold it up and fit it into a small box, shipping will be practically nothing.) I have the address and everything ready.
